NIGHTMARE| Here Is How Much Aston Villa Is Set To Lose As Marvelous Nakamba’s Market Value Plummets

Aston Villa’s move for Zimbabwean footballer Marvelous Nakamba is now a nightmare for the club as the market value of the player has significantly dropped.

The English-based side signed the Warriors star Nakamba for a fee of £11m from Club Brugge in 2019. Nakamba inked a lengthy contract of five years with Villa.

Since joining the club in 2019, the Zimbabwean star has failed to impress and live up to his price tag. The former Club Brugge midfielder has been hampered by a series of injuries that affected his consistency in the premier league.

From the 68 appearances he played so far, Marvelous Nakamba has failed to register a single goal or assist.

Defensively in the middle of the park, the Zim national averaged two tackles per game which is an immense drop in performance from an average of 4,4 tackles per game which he averaged per game in the Champions League during his final season with Club Brugge.

Overall in the premier league, the 28-year-old Villa midfielder is yet to achieve a rating above 6.65 per game and this indicates how Nakamba is struggling to make an impact in the league.

Following the player’s performance since joining Villa for £11m, the CIES Football Observatory has revealed that Nakamba’s market value has dropped to an estimated €3m.

What’s Next For Villa As Marvelous Nakamba’s Market Value Plummets?

Now that Marvelous Nakamba’s market value has declined according to CIES Football Observatory, Aston Villa are likely to sell the player during the January transfer to avoid a major loss.

This summer, the Zimbabwean was shortlisted among players who were set to be offloaded by Villa but Nakamba survived the chop.

Despite surviving the chop, Villa will somehow avoid a loss of letting Nakamba go as a free agent by looking for potential buyers for the player whose contract expires end of the 2023/24 season.
